Join us for a delightful Afternoon Tea experience at Lady Mendl's Tea Salon on October 13 at 3:30pm. Sip on exquisite blends, savor delectable treats, and expand your knowledge of the art of tea with Yale Alum and tea expert Shiny Weerakoon ('19 MPH), who will be joining as our special guest.
Lady Mendl's is a whimsical tea salon housed within a Georgian brownstone in the heart of New York City's historical Gramercy Park. With a modern take on traditional afternoon tea service, guests will enjoy unlimited tea accompanied by a 5-course pre-fixe menu featuring tea sandwiches, scones, petit fours, and gateau de crepes.
Shiny Weerakoon grew up in the beautiful tea mountains of Sri Lanka (also known as “Ceylon” during British rule). Her family has spent decades in all facets of the tea industry — from growing tea on their estate, running tea factories that produce loose tea, and partner with brokers who package different grades and varieties of tea under different brand names to be exported globally. Shiny brings her families’ love for tea to New York City, where she currently resides with her husband. During this very special event, she will share more about the family business, the varietals and grades of tea they grow and answer any questions about the process and her life-long experience.
Tickets are $105 per person. Don't miss the opportunity as space is limited.
